Topogigio review
review by: R. Smith
15th 2007f August 2007
I visted this restuarant as a party of 7 people. We were given an alchove for 4 with a small side table added for the other three. We had to pass the plates down the table - not my idea of restaurant service.
The starter was garlic mushrooms, three in fried breadcrumbs for £6.95, over £2 each - not a good start. Maybe the slice of lettuce and spoon of sauce added to the cost.
The pizza I ordered was very poor by comparison to most I've eaten elsewhere. The main topping was a thick layer of cheese, with some very small extra toppings. The pieces of ham where the size of a finger nail. The base tasted fried, and with the cheese justed tasted of fat. The onion and peppers too small to notice.
The other dishes were not much better. The rice and pasta dishes were very plain and the toppings very small.
The puddings were too expensive for us to bother with, over £5 for a small ice cream is too much.
My overall experience was poor, I felt we were given unhealthy cheap fatty food and expected to pay premium prices. The restaurant is small and cramped with extra tables being put everywhere to make up tables for 6 or 7.
